Come and network with your local DCS colleagues on the evening of August 5, 2008. We will gather at 6:30PM for a Meet-and-Greet before getting heavily into the main focus of this event, Sony XDCAM EX Workflow.

Adobe’s Kevan O’Brien will present their native XDCAM EX editing workflow using Premiere Pro and Production Premium software; and also give us the latest details on their Cinema DNG initiative. This will be followed by a “warm-up” to a future meeting to be devoted exclusively to RED Post Production and Workflow. Other featured presenters include our own Adam Wilt and Art Adams who will share some of their findings after rigorous tests of these cameras and workflows for their website: www.ProVideoCoalition.com click here. The meeting is being organized and will be moderated by our Chapter President Simon Sommerfeld and V.P. Trudi Melohn.

NEWS:
Our August 5th Northern California Chapter meeting has timed out perfectly with significant news concerning Adobe/RED workflow. As announced July 30th, on REDuser.net by Jim Jannard, “Within a week, RED R3D files will open natively in CS3 Premiere Pro and After Effects." This is certainly exciting news regarding Adobe's new abilities to handle RED footage, but it makes a lot of sense since Adobe have long been the masters of RAW workflow with still images, and RED utilizes similar technology, only complicated greatly by running at higher frame rates.

AGENDA UPDATE:
Adobe Group Product Manager for Editing, Giles Baker, will share the latest details of Adobe’s new RED workflow, as well Adobe's Cinema DNG initiative, an effort to develop cross platform solutions for the nonproprietary exchange of Digital Cinema Camera RAW files.

Art Adams will present RED Build 16, color correcting RED, and his Wii spec spot.

Adam Wilt will talk about the EX1 and EX3 cameras.

There will be a couple each Sony EX1 and EX3 cameras on hand for you to have a close look at. Cameras kindly provided by Adam Wilt, and Leigh Blicher of SF rental company, Videofax (http://www.videofax.com), with Leigh also providing a RED One camera.
