North American Premiere: They Turned Our Desert Into Fire
Sunday April 13 at 2.00 PM, Sarasota Film Festival, Florida:
Please join us at the 10th Sarasota Film Festival
www.sarasotafilmfestival.com/2008/ for the North American Premiere of
They Turned Our Desert Into Fire, the award-winning film by war photographer Mark Brecke who has over a decade of experience covering genocide around the world.
The film tells the story of the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan, through the eyes of twelve passengers during a cross-country train trip. Brecke's photographic images of the crisis along with moving first hand accounts and comprehensive expert analysis, help illuminate the full dimension of the crisis and raise serious questions about the world's apparent willful indifference. We have been told by both experts and Sudanese refugees that our film spells out the complexities involved and why the solutions are not simple.
